Philadelphia’s Wi-Fi Finder is a searchable map that helps residents locate free public internet at City sites. Launched by the City’s Office of Innovation and Technology in April 2025, it lets users search by address or ZIP code, filter by location type and check whether a site offers computer access.34
The map covers free Wi-Fi at Free Library locations, recreation and older adult centers, parks, museums and other City buildings.23 It also identifies sites included in a wider effort to extend high-speed broadband and public Wi-Fi to more than 180 City locations under the Verizon iNET franchise agreement.13 The City’s Office of Innovation and Technology is working with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation on that rollout; the agreement calls for installations over two years.35
At launch, the City reported 105 free Wi-Fi sites in the Finder and 51 completed installations under the Verizon agreement since October 2024.4 The map therefore serves both as a practical directory for residents and as a way to distinguish locations connected to the ongoing installation program.34 The City’s stated aim is to make nearby access easier to find, with a focus on bringing public Wi-Fi to neighborhoods across Philadelphia.3
