Sekretariatet for Supercykelstier coordinates a regional partnership to make cycling a practical option for commuting to work and education. The network is designed to connect municipalities across the Capital Region and improve conditions for longer journeys, with routes intended to make cycling safer and easier to choose. 21
The partnership began working together in 2009. It now brings together 27 municipalities, with the secretariat facilitating cooperation between them. The current network links 21 municipalities through 16 established routes; the partnership’s longer-term plan is a network of more than 60 routes covering over 850 kilometres. 247
The secretariat is based at Islands Brygge 37 in Copenhagen. Its listed contacts include secretariat head Signe Helledi and communications and press contact Diana Bern Skyum. 3 Its work includes coordinating the cross-municipal network, publishing analyses and evaluations, and sharing route and construction updates. A recent example is the Ring 3 route, which opened alongside the light rail in 2026. 14
