ReUse e.V. is a non-profit association based in Berlin, Germany, working on reuse, resource conservation and sustainability, with a particular focus on electronic and electrical products. Founded as a charitable organisation in 2013, it promotes the extended use of second-hand branded IT equipment and argues that keeping functional devices in circulation is a practical way to reduce waste and delay the production of replacement goods.
The organisation’s work combines public education, research and project development. According to its own description, ReUse e.V. supports education around the reuse of electronic products, helps build network-based cooperation structures, informs the public about reuse options and takes part in scientific research projects. Its activities are closely tied to the circular economy debate in Germany, where it presents reuse not as a niche issue but as a necessary part of managing material flows.
A central strand of its recent work is the project “Weisse Ware Wiederverwenden” (“Reuse of White Goods”), carried out with the German Environment Agency (UBA). The project examines how large household appliances can be collected, refurbished, resold and integrated back into use. The association says the work has covered business models, legal conditions, data collection and surveys of electrical retailers. The current phase of the project has been presented as ongoing into 2024 and 2025, with a final report announced for 30 April 2026.
ReUse e.V. also organised a congress in Berlin on the future of the circular economy, focusing on reuse, repair and resource use in Germany. The association is led by Stefan Ebelt, with Max Regenfelder and Dr. Bernd Gründel listed on the board.
