Organisation Profile
Mobility2Grid is a research campus (Forschungscampus) at the interface of electromobility and power grids. Its real-world lab is located on the EUREF-Campus in Berlin, where it analyses and tests sector coupling of transport, energy and heat supply.
Research Focus
- Develops new technologies and studies how business models must adapt to changing markets.
- Examines how grid capacity is used and how fleets can be controlled in a grid-serving way.
- Sees the lab's findings as a potential blueprint for larger municipal and urban areas.
Stated Goal
The organisation aims to make the supply of electricity, heat and transport affordable, secure and fully based on renewable energies, with the participation of civil society.
Why Mobility2Grid Matters for Urban Energy Transition
The second Mobility2Grid conference, "Lab2Reality: Zukunftsbilder einer vernetzten Mobilität", was held on 14 September 2021 from 09:00 to 17:00 at the EUREF-Campus, Berlin. Scientists and industry representatives were to share experiences and current research on how the energy and transport systems can be transformed sustainably. The maximum number of participants had been reached, so registration was no longer possible.
