London Climate Ready Partnership (LCRP), formerly the London Climate Change Partnership, is London’s main forum for climate adaptation and resilience to extreme weather. Based in London, England, it brings together public, private and voluntary sector organisations that have a stake in how the capital prepares for flooding, overheating, drought and other climate-related risks.
The partnership describes itself as a centre for expertise on climate change adaptation in London. Its work focuses on turning climate evidence into practical action for the city’s services, infrastructure and communities. That includes commissioning and sharing research, publishing guidance and reports, convening workshops and forums, and supporting collaboration across sectors. The organisation also works closely with the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority on resilience planning.
A large part of LCRP’s activity is tied to the specific risks facing a dense urban area: surface water flooding, the urban heat island effect, and overheating in buildings and critical infrastructure. Its publications cover topics such as health, the built environment, and the links between environment and public health. Recent and ongoing work has included events on heat data and vulnerability, and a stream of publications on climate impacts and adaptation.
The partnership’s mission has become more visible as London faces more frequent extreme weather. In 2024, the London Climate Resilience Review, chaired by Emma Howard Boyd CBE, published 50 recommendations for the city’s preparedness. LCRP’s role is to help translate that kind of analysis into coordinated action across London.
