KEK, short for Koordinierungsstelle für Kreislaufwirtschaft, Energieeffizienz und Klimaschutz im Betrieb, is a public support service for companies and other organisations in Berlin. It is run by the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises in cooperation with the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment. The service is based in Berlin, Germany, and its offer is limited to organisations with a location in Berlin.
KEK advises businesses, associations and non-profit institutions on three linked fields: circular economy, energy efficiency and climate protection in operations. According to Berlin.de, the service is neutral and free of charge. It offers a basic advisory service as well as more specific formats such as KMU detail advice and company workshops, the latter mainly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises. Support includes first guidance, information on funding opportunities, networking, awareness-raising and more detailed technical advice on how to identify and implement measures.
The current KEK format launched officially on 11 March 2024, expanding an earlier energy-efficiency and climate-protection service into a broader circular-economy advisory platform. This reflects a shift from individual efficiency questions toward a wider transformation agenda for Berlin’s business sector. The organisation also appears regularly in Berlin’s event programme, including sessions at the Berliner Energietage 2026, where it presents topics such as heat, cooling, electricity use and CO₂ accounting for companies.
A named contact listed in external sources is Jakob Brückner, and KEK’s office address is given as Am Steinplatz 1, 10623 Berlin.
