Berliner Agentur für Elektromobilität eMO is the State of Berlin’s agency for electromobility, based in Berlin, Germany, and part of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology. It acts as a competence centre for electric mobility and new mobility solutions in the capital region, with a clear focus on commercial transport and the transition of businesses to electric fleets. The agency supports the market uptake of electromobility, the rollout of charging infrastructure, and the introduction of sustainable mobility management in companies.
Its work is strongly tied to Berlin’s climate and economic policy goals. eMO brings together actors from business, science, administration and politics, and helps coordinate, test and disseminate mobility solutions. The agency also manages central state projects and supports companies with practical questions such as fleet electrification, depot charging, and the use of charging points on private or semi-public sites. On its website, eMO highlights solutions for e-fleets, utility vehicles and smart-controlled depot charging, as well as shared-use charging concepts that aim to improve utilisation.
Geographically, eMO’s main scope is the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region, but its work also extends to national and international networking around smart mobility. It presents Berlin as a testbed for climate-neutral transport and uses conferences, studies and partner networks to promote its projects.
One visible lighthouse format is the annual “Hauptstadtkonferenz Elektromobilität,” held at Berlin’s Red City Hall and streamed online. The agency also supports the development of charging infrastructure in Berlin, including studies, site selection and procurement support for operators.
The imprint lists Dr. Stefan Franzke as Managing Director and State Secretary Michael Biel as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
