Renewables Finland, or Suomen uusiutuvat ry, is a Finnish industry association representing companies and other actors involved in renewable energy. Based in Jyväskylä, central Finland, the organisation presents itself as a facilitator of the clean energy transition “throughout Finland,” with a strong focus on wind power and, increasingly, solar power and energy storage. Its website is built around practical information: project development guidance, explanations for municipalities and landowners, environmental considerations, and frequently asked questions about renewable energy.
The association’s work is both advocacy-driven and operationally oriented. It publishes statements on legislation and planning matters, responds to public consultations, and follows regulatory issues that affect renewable energy deployment. In recent weeks, for example, it has commented on land-use legislation, guarantee-of-origin rules, and regional planning in Uusimaa. At the same time, it runs member services and professional events, including training courses and sector gatherings for operations and maintenance, battery projects, and wind energy.
Renewables Finland also plays a visible role in sector networking. Its events calendar includes major industry meetings such as the “10 GW Gala,” the “Käyttö & Kunnossapito 2026” conference in Oulu, and Wind 2026 in Helsinki, which is described as the largest wind power event in the Nordic region. The organisation’s recent communications suggest that it is tracking a milestone of more than 10 gigawatts of wind and solar power in Finland, underlining the rapid expansion of the sector it represents.
The association is chaired by Heikki Peltomaa. Its public-facing materials and event programme show a national mandate, but with relevance for wider Nordic and European renewable-energy policy discussions.
